Junet Mohamed: Uhuru is a 'Stranger' Who Can't Summon Elected MPs

Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohammed has maintained that NASA affiliated MPs will not honor August 31 parliamentary session convened by President Uhuru, saying that they can't honor summons from a ‘stranger’.

President Uhuru in a gazzette notice convened first parliament sitting on Thursday next week as required by the constitution.

The ODM Director of elections, however, said the opposition legislator will not attend the session until after the Supreme Court delivers a verdict on a case challenging reelection of President Uhuru Kenyatta filed by Raila Odinga.

“Our stand is in public domain and nothing has changed. Uhuru should not act as if he has won an election yet we have serious issues to discuss,” Junnet said.

”We can only honour such directives when the courts decide. A stranger cannot summon elected MPs.”

NASA wants the Supreme Court to overturn President Uhuru’s reelection on grounds that electoral commission IEBC conducted fraudulent elections which were ‘massively’ rigged.

Uhuru was declared the winner of August 8th general election after garnering 8.2 million votes to Raila Odinga's 6.7 million votes.

Raila said that Uhuru is a computer generated President and declared that no elections were held on August 8th. He wants a fresh election conducted.
