Secession Calls are Constitutional, NASA Chief Strategist David Ndii Says

National Super Alliance (NASA) Chief Strategist economist David Ndii has dismissed those criticizing secession his calls.

Ndii said that secession is constitution, adding that the constitution of Kenya allows ‘free’ people to discuss secession, an idea that has caused political tension in the country in the last few days.

Ndii argues that his "petition for self-determination" that calls for a section of communities to separate from Kenya is the only way to end impunity and political slavery inflicted by a few communities on others.

“Secession is a healthy topic and we shall push for it. It is intended to restore hope t hopeless people in Kenya,” he says in his Twitter.

He adds:”A group by the name Mombasa Republican Council (MRC) wanted Coast not to be part of Kenya and the court ruled in their favour. They were however not allowed to use violent means.”

In a statement earlier this week, Attorney General Githu Muigai termed the secession debate unconstitutional arguing that separation is not guaranteed in the constitution.

Government spokesman Erick Kiraithe on his part said it is treason for people to discuss separation and threatened to arrest its architects.

National Cohesion and Intergration Commission (NCIC) chairman Francis Ole Kaparo said the debate was meant to divide the country on tribal lines for political gains.
