President Uhuru Welcomes Raila to Work with Him

President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on his rival opposition chief to join and work with him to build Kenya. Speaking at the Bomas of Kenya shortly after being declared the President-elect by the Electoral Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati, Uhuru invited Raila and those in the opposition to work with him.

"Raila Odinga, i reach out to you, all your supporters, we shall work together and build this nation together."

" I reach out to Honourable Raila Odinga and his supporters. In every competition there are winners and losers. We are not enemies.I extend my friendship," he added.

"To our brothers, we are not enemies, we all belong to one grate nation called Kenya."

"Congratulations to those who have won, to those who have lost, we say, we live to fight another day."

He also called on Kenyans to maintain peace.

"Reach out to your neighbour regardless of who you voted for, shake hands and let's build Kenya together. Politicians come and go but your neighbour will always be there.There is no need for violence," he said.
