Peter Kenneth Tears into Evans Kidero, Mike Sonko Credentials
Nairobi independent gubernatorial candidate Peter Kenneth maintains that he is the best candidate for the seat despite calls by President Uhuru Kenyatta to have him step down for Jubilee candidate Mike Sonko.
The former Gatanga MP tore into the credentials of his two main rivals in the governor race, urging city residents to vote for him for a better Nairobi.
Addressing supporters in Dagoretti south Constituency on Wednesday, Kenneth said that incumbent Governor Evans Kidero will only be remembered for cholera that has hit the county in recent weeks, while Mike Sonko could not be trusted with the seat due to his poor academic credentials.
Kenneth described Mike Sonko as a let-down who is relying on his party leaders, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to endorse him since he has no agenda for the people of Nairobi.
He described Sonko as a failure who has failed to deliver in is previous positions. "Sonko has so many names, I am not sure what his real name is, but I know of one which he is referred to mostly. You cannot trust someone with no real name," said Kenneth.
Kenneth took note of the water problem faced by Dagoretti residents, promising to ensure provision of clean water in all Nairobi estate as his main agenda when he takes office.
"I will address the water issue first thing if elected," said Kenneth.
He maintained that Nairobi residents will be the ones to decide who their next governor will be and ruled out stepping down for Mike Sonko.
