NASA Plans 'One Million Man' Rally in Nairobi

John Wanjohi May 26, 2017

National Super Alliance (NASA) says that it will hold a “One Million Man” rally in Nairobi on Sunday. The rally will come after the coalition’s presidential candidate Raila Odinga and running mate Kalonzo Musyoka submit their nomination papers to Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission ( IEBC).

Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and ODM Nairobi County chairman George Aladwa who are the heads of ‘Team Nairobi’ revealed that a series of road shows will culminate in a mega rally at Jacaranda grounds in Embakasi.

“We will convene at KICC/City Hall Way from 10am for a celebratory procession as we look forward to our NASA team leaders receiving a green light to formally begin campaigning,” Kidero said.

He added, “We are expecting one million Kenyans from across the country. I assure everybody that we have made adequate logistical and security arrangements and are looking forward to a memorable day,”

The team, which included ODM woman representative candidate Esther Passaris, Senator Aspirant Edwin Sifuna, Ruaraka MP Tom Kajwang, exuded confidence that they will deliver more than a million votes for Raila, warning Jubilee of a humiliating defeat.

“It will no longer be business as usual. We are with the people. We are one million strong in Nairobi and we will comb every corner of this great country in our humble search for votes to ensure NASA delivers victory for the presidency and here in Nairobi."

NASA leaders Raila Odinga (ODM), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Moses Wetang’ula (Ford Kenya) and CCM’s Isaac Rutto are expected to grace the mega rally that will mark the beginning of campaign for the opposition outfit.
